“I actually haven’t really met a business that hasn’t benefited from Facebook Ads.“
Facebook Fibbery – Bianca McKenzie
So Crisp Podcast
Once, when I was silly and charged $60 an hour to write copy and was poor, I stood in front of a room full of women and told them if they had to put money behind their advertising on FB their content wasn’t engaging enough.
Because I was an ignorant, arrogant twat.
I am hereby officially apologising to anyone who was negatively impacted by my stupidity.
Funny story about today’s guest. A couple of years ago my business strategist asked who I’d work with on FB Ads if I could have anyone. I said Bianca McKenzie. She said “well, you’d better work harder then because right now you can’t afford her.”
So, I did that.
And, like a lot of fabulous but high-priced service providers, she actually ended up being more cost-effective than any other FB advertising tactic I’d tried to keep costs down. Better ROI. Better feels. The lot.
So, I’ve invited Bianca on to talk about Facebook Fibbery, myths that need blasting out of the water, and perhaps a little bit of launch cleverness too.
The Crisp Takeaways

4.19
“A lot of people might not know about the whole business to business side of Facebook marketing. (When it comes to Facebook advertising) you only know as much as you can see… and people see a lot of ads in their Facebook feeds and you get a bit clouded. It’s the same as when you watch TV – who really sits through the ads? People walk away from it. At some point you just put the blinkers on. So if you see a lot of Facebook ads that are B2B, even if you are a business to business provider, you will put your blinkers on at some point.”
5.23
“That doesn’t mean that they (Facebook Ads) don’t work for business to business. It just means that you need to be super, super, super clear on your ideal audience and make sure that your ads only show up in people’s feeds that are likely to click on it… But let me tell you, I wouldn’t make this my thing if it didn’t work.”
7.06
“I work with a lot of service providers as well as e-commerce. And it goes for both of these types of ads. If your thing isn’t already selling without Facebook ads, Facebook ads is not going to change that. Facebook ads is only going to amplify what’s already happening. So if you have zero sales and you put money behind that, you’re probably still going to end up with zero sales. So you need to find out why your thing isn’t converting. Where is the leak in your funnel? If you don’t even have a funnel, then that’s probably your first step.”
14.09
“I actually haven’t really met a business that hasn’t benefited from Facebook Ads. Maybe they are out there. Well there’s a few that actually can’t advertise because it’s not allowed on Facebook because of their rules. So Facebook Ads, with the right strategy, can work for so many businesses. Like I said, I’ve never really met a business that it couldn’t work for.”
